Meet Our Leadership Team

Meet the Leadership Team driving St Andrew’s First Aid forward. Together, they provide the leadership, expertise and vision needed to support our people, grow our impact and help save lives across Scotland.

Derek Robertson (Chief Executive Officer)

Derek joined St Andrew’s First Aid as Chief Executive in August 2025. He is an award winning and accomplished leader with an extensive career working in public service, established over a period of nearly 40 years. This has largely been in the UK charity sector as a senior executive, where he’s held a number of Chief Executive and Director roles, in both Scotland and England. Derek has also held a number of Non-Executive and Government advisory roles and is currently Vice Chair of Caledonia Housing Association.

Prior to joining St Andrew’s, Derek managed his own consultancy business assisting charities work through change. In addition he was a senior associate with Social Investment Scotland and Bruce Tait Associates. Derek is a Chartered Manager,  Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, Fellow of the RSA, Chartered Waste Manager, Member of the Institute of Directors and member of Rotary International.

Lisa Robb

Lisa Robb joined St Andrew’s First Aid as Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and Inward Investment in November 2025. She is a commercially focused marketing leader with more than 20 years’ experience across the subscription and healthcare sectors

Prior to joining St Andrew’s, Lisa held senior marketing roles with Vets Now and IVC Evidensia, leading brand, digital and go-to-market strategy during major periods of growth

At St Andrew’s First Aid, Lisa leads marketing, communications, brand, digital, engagement and inward investment activity. Her work focuses on growing reach, profile and impact across Scotland through stronger brand awareness, customer acquisition and retention, volunteer engagement, CRM, digital strategy and team development

Lisa holds an MSc in Digital Marketing Communications from Manchester Metropolitan University, a Postgraduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She is also currently studying AI in Marketing with MMC Learning

Andrew Penker

Andrew Penker is a fractional Director of People and an experienced senior leader who runs his own people consultancy and mentoring company, xsectormentor.com providing services for charities and SMEs. 

A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and Member of the Institute of Leadership, Andrew also holds a Masters in HR Management, and is an accredited mentor and certified coach.

Andrew contributes to the wider profession as a Judge for the prestigious annual HR Networks Scotland Awards. Originally from Pitlochry and Highland Perthshire, he is committed to community impact and currently serves as a Trustee and Director of the Enchanted Forest Community Trust, having previously been a trustee with Southeast Scotland Scouts. 

His work blends deep professional expertise with a strong sense of purpose, and people‑centred leadership.

David Selkirk

David is the Executive Director for Operations and Business Development. David joined the organisation in January 2026 and has extensive senior leadership experience having worked in the private, public and charity sectors previously. Most recently, this has included working at a Director level for a not-for-profit organisation in Aberdeen overseeing a large range of facilities and services.     

At St Andrew’s First Aid, David leads on service delivery for both our commercial training provision and our volunteer services. Working with a team, David’s remit is to help grow both these functions, ensuring that we offer high-quality, customer focused and sustainable services and to identify areas for further business growth and enhanced service delivery

Moiz Nurbhai

Moiz is the Executive Director of Corporate Services and joined the organisation in June 2026. He has over 24 years leadership experience, primarily within the private sector in areas such as transport, retail and business education and laterally in the charities as a senior leader.

Moiz has extensive experience as a volunteer with St Johns Ambulance and St Andrews First Aid, beginning the role at the age of 12. Within St Andrews Moiz has held several volunteer leadership roles, supporting the organisation in its planning and event cover areas as examples. 

Moiz is also part of the board with The Lennox Partnership who support and educate individuals, groups and communities back into work with a focus in helping people living in the most deprived areas of Scotland. 

David Dewhurst

David is the Executive Director of Finance and joined in November 2025. He is a  chartered accountant, a highly experienced finance professional with a big firm accountancy firm background followed by more than 20 years in the private sector with Noble Grossart, the Edinburgh-based private merchant bank, and more than 10 years in the not-for-profit sector in a mix of non-executive and senior executive roles, including as Director of Finance with EMMS International, an international healthcare charity.

Since 2021 David has run his own professional consultancy practice advising a mix of private and not for profit clients on a range of both strategic and operational matters and providing interim Finance Director services. He has been a member of the Charities Committee at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland since 2022 and is a non-executive Director of Enable Trustee Service Ltd, a subsidiary of Enable Scotland, which provides a discretionary trust management service to and for people who have a learning disability.  

David has a keen interest in health and well-being as evidenced through some of the organisations he has been and continues to be involved with. He is especially pleased to join St Andrew’s at this time given its heritage and to bring his wide knowledge and experience to assist with the next stage in its journey.
