Ready For Life

Our Ready for Life programme is a two day course suitable for any young person 16 years and older. Upon completion, participants receive two industry recognised qualifications which are valid for 3 years. These are the Emergency First Aid at Work (SCQF6) and First Aid for Mental Health Awareness (SCQF4) certificates. Both these qualifications can be included in a young person’s attainment record.

The programme is designed to provide young people with important skills to prepare them for their next steps when they leave school. Having these lifesaving skills can not only benefit personal and community resilience, it also increases the prospects of a young person entering employment or higher education. The Ready for Life course has been designed to link with frameworks including the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. More information can be found in our brochure here

We can provide this course in both mainstream and ASN Secondary Schools, as well as in employability settings. The programme is delivered by our professionally qualified First Aid and Mental Health First Aid Trainer/Assessors.

Feedback

“The pupils were all engaged with the sessions, they enjoyed the sessions, they were able to work in a group setting (very big deal) as this can be difficult due to anxiety and/or due to turn taking and listening skills, they were able to stay and complete the training without having to move about (take breaks) pupils gained SQA credits and gave them valuable life skills.  Furthermore, pupils from 3 schools were able to be comfortable with each other and work well together.”
