The Lifeline AED is a semi automatic external defibrillator – once the operator has placed the included pads on the patient, the device will then analyse the patient in order to determine if defibrillation is required. In the result of defibrillation being determined to be required the unit shock button will flash and the unit will prompt the operator to press the button. No shock will be delivered until the operator presses the button as this functionailty is reserved to automatic defibrillation units only.
