Company Newsletter – 1 year Anniversary Edition – April 17

This week marks the 12 month anniversary of our company newsletter, and what a year it’s been!
Between launching our new website, focusing on all things digital and entering the E-Learning supply trade, we found time to engage with the local community, improve staff working lives and support our charity at 2016’s Scottish First Aid Awards.

In March 2017, in order to celebrate Women’s History Month, we took the time to look at some of the achievements of the women working in our organisation. We are proud to say our workforce is currently 67% female which is unusual for our industry.

mend a broken heart - heart attack

No Valentine’s Day is complete without a wary notice to protect your heart – literally! This year we discussed how to recognise and treat a heart attack.

In 2017 we took a step into the future with our Scottish Business Pledge Accreditation.

Taking part in the pledge means that we are now part of a movement where companies are developing their business to follow alongside the Government’s values in creating a sustainable business growth in Scotland. When a business follows these values it can lead to better employment, a more productive workforce and further company development

We were proud to support our charity St Andrew’s First Aid at this year’s Scottish First Aid Awards!
In fact, we can’t wait to do it all again this year! You can have a peak at the wonderful stories behind this year’s winners by clicking here.

In September 2016 we launched our E-Learning courses! This development means that life-saving skills can now be accessed even in the most remote areas of the U.K.

A common question asked in our training courses is ‘What is the difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest?’ Learn how to spot and treat each condition by clicking here.

Eastwood High School

In early 2016, students from Eastwood High School in East Renfrewshire were so determined to gain life-saving skills that they held various fundraisers to pay for their course with St Andrew’s First Aid Training and Supplies Ltd. The school was so impressed it matched every penny they raised!
As an organisation we were so impressed with their efforts, we awarded their certificates in person at their end of school year ceremony in June 2016.
