Charity Trustee opportunities
St Andrew’s First Aid is seeking new charity Trustees to join its Board at a time of momentum and renewal. This is an opportunity to help guide a respected national charity with a clear public purpose, a strong public profile and growing ambition.
We are Scotland’s dedicated first aid charity and the country’s leading provider of first aid training and event first aid services. Each year we train more than 15,000 people and support communities through a network of over 700 volunteers. Our market-leading commercial training business provides sustainable income that is reinvested to extend our charitable impact.
Charity Trustees play a strategic, non-executive role. Working collectively, the Board sets direction, provides constructive challenge and ensures strong governance, financial stewardship and long-term resilience. Charity Trustees work closely with the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team but are not involved in day-to-day operations.
We welcome applications from individuals with senior-level experience and sound judgement. Previous charity Trustee experience is welcome but not essential.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in:
- governance, compliance and organisational assurance
- finance, audit, risk or asset management
- people, organisational development or volunteer leadership
- business development, marketing, communications or digital
- public sector engagement and partnerships
- health and clinical services
This is a voluntary role, supported by a structured induction and a collaborative Board culture. Charity Trustees should be motivated by purpose and keen to contribute to the future of a national charity that saves lives.
