Events Officer

Location: Glasgow
Salary: c. £28,500 per annum
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

St Andrew’s First Aid is Scotland’s dedicated first aid charity and a leading provider of first aid training and event first aid services. Through our market-leading commercial training business and a network of committed volunteers, we support communities across Scotland and provide professional first aid cover at events of all sizes.

We are seeking an Events Officer to join our team in Glasgow.

This is a pivotal operational role responsible for the successful delivery of first aid provision at events supported by our volunteers. You will work closely with the Client, Service & Delivery Manager, fellow Events Officers and our volunteering team to ensure that every event runs smoothly, safely and professionally.

You will build strong relationships with event organisers and volunteers, particularly Event Co-ordinators, Logistics Co-ordinators and Company Commandants. You will ensure that events are appropriately resourced with the right volunteers, equipment, vehicles and communications infrastructure to deliver a high-quality service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with event organisers to plan and co-ordinate first aid provision
  • Supporting volunteers to ensure appropriate staffing and equipment at events
  • Overseeing logistics, vehicle and equipment management
  • Ensuring risk assessments, documentation and compliance requirements are in place
  • Monitoring volunteer engagement through our Volunteer Relationship Management system
  • Conducting post-event reviews and driving continuous improvement
  • Supporting health and safety implementation across event delivery
  • Identifying opportunities for repeat and new business

This role requires someone who is organised, calm under pressure and confident working with volunteers and clients. You will bring strong communication skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem solving. Experience in event management and knowledge of health and safety requirements within events is essential.

The role includes occasional evening and weekend working, on-call responsibilities and event attendance.

If you are passionate about high-quality service delivery and want to play a key role in supporting volunteers who save lives across Scotland, we would love to hear from you.
