Trainer/Assessor
Location: Glasgow
Salary: c. £30,000 per annum
Hours: Full time, 38.75 hours per week
St Andrew’s First Aid is Scotland’s dedicated first aid charity and a leading provider of first aid training and event first aid services. Through our market-leading commercial training business and committed volunteer network, we support communities across Scotland and respond to both local and national emergencies.
We are seeking a Trainer/Assessor to join our Volunteer Training & Development team.
Reporting to the Volunteer Training & Development Manager, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment to our volunteers, ensuring they are confident, competent and equipped to provide first aid cover at events and within communities.
You will deliver courses including first aid for events, manual handling and safeguarding training. As our volunteer base grows, you will support the development and delivery of additional training programmes and will be supported to expand your own qualifications and delivery portfolio.
The role also involves mentoring and supporting Volunteer Trainer/Assessors, working collaboratively across regional teams and maintaining accurate training records through our Volunteer Relationship Management system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering training and assessments in line with policies and quality standards
- Supporting and mentoring Volunteer Trainer/Assessors
- Maintaining accurate documentation and updating training records
- Supporting volunteer inductions where required
- Gathering feedback to improve training materials and delivery
- Providing occasional cover for commercial training delivery
- Supporting emergency cover at events where necessary
We are looking for a nationally recognised Trainer/Assessor with a valid First Aid at Work qualification and experience delivering engaging, high-quality training. You will bring strong communication skills, professionalism and a positive, volunteer-centred approach.
The role includes periodic evening and weekend working, travel outside Glasgow and participation in an on-call rota.
