Director: Mr Jim Lindsay

Mr Lindsay retired after almost 40 years in banking in early 2013. He was Chief Executive of Airdrie Savings Bank from 2000 until his retirement, and prior to that he was with The Royal Bank of Scotland for 27 years.

He is a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and was a member of the Council of that institute for more than 20 years, serving as President from 2011 to 2013. He was also a member of the Board of Management of Coatbridge College for 12 years, serving latterly as Vice Chair.

As well as the Board of Directors, Jim is currently a Trustee of St Andrew’s First Aid.


Director: Mr Rudy Crawford MBE BSc (Hons) MB ChB FRCS (Glasg) FRCEM

Mr Crawford has been associated with St Andrew’s First Aid since 1966, initially as a first aider and a volunteer when he undertook teaching and public duties. Following his medical studies, he trained in general surgery prior to specialising in Accident and Emergency Medicine and Surgery. He recently retired as a Consultant in Accident and Emergency Medicine and Surgery at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

During his time with St Andrew’s he has acted as a lecturer, examiner and arbiter, and served as Honorary Surgeon. He served as Commandant in Chief for 10 years and was appointed Chairman in 2003. Rudy is a member of the Tripartite Medical Committee of the three UK Voluntary Aid Societies (St John Ambulance, British Red Cross and St Andrew’s First Aid) and is a co-author of the authorised First Aid Manual of these societies.


Director: Mr Derek Ellery

Derek is an experienced corporate lawyer with significant management experience in the professional services sector.  He has been a Director since the inception of the commercial subsidiary, and is also a Trustee of St Andrew’s First Aid.

Director: Mr Stuart Callison

Stuart Callison has been the Chief Executive of St Andrew’s First Aid since November 2008, and was instrumental in establishing the training and supplies business as a standalone social enterprise. A qualified accountant and lawyer, he previously worked as the Deputy Chief Executive of the urban regeneration charity Gorbals Initiative, with responsibility for business and community development, and with the National Audit Office as a value for money consultant attached to the Department of the Environment and Scottish Office.

Stuart has a keen interest in politics and current affairs, including a Masters degree in Social and Public Policy. He was until recently a regular club cricketer and still an occasional chess player and general sports enthusiast, following various (usually unsuccessful) teams in cricket, football, rugby and basketball.

Director: Mr James Lloyd

James joined the Board of St Andrew’s First Aid Training and Supplies in 2016 when he became Head of Finance and IT for the parent charity, St Andrew’s First Aid.

James is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has worked in several finance roles within third sector organisations over the last 14 years. These organisations included Cube Housing Association, Turning Point Scotland and The Mungo Foundation. James also has experience in working in the private sector, including roles within a large car company and some accounting practices. He has sound knowledge of statutory reporting requirements for charities and considerable experience in various computer systems.


Managing Director: Gayle Adnyana

Gayle has had a diverse career and has experience from the private sector from both within a large corporation and from a small boutique organisation.

Whilst working in the private sector she held several senior roles under the umbrella of Lloyds Banking Group and has worked across the UK and has international experience from a secondment to Sydney, Australia where she delivered a high profile and fast moving roll out of new retail branches in Australia.

Gayle has also worked in the third sector as Deputy Chief Executive of Children’s University Scotland and as Director at SkillForce Scotland. Gayle has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology and is married with four young children.
