Could you raise the profile of St Andrew’s First Aid?
The St Andrew’s Volunteer Corps has been serving Scottish communities since 1904. Our trained first aiders are a familiar sight at events all over the country, from major events such as music festivals, air shows and international sports matches to local theatres and community fairs.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Volunteer Development Officer, someone with excellent communication & organisational skills to provide support to local volunteers and enable delivery of our services and activities across the Highlands and North East Scotland.
We work in an empowering way with individuals and communities to increase resilience and you’ll be key to making sure we do this effectively.
You will recruit and manage a pool of volunteers to support the full range of volunteer activities, including first aid events, community demonstrations and emergency planning. As the link between the organisation, local groups, services and the community you will form excellent working relationships with other voluntary and statutory organisations, looking at ways to work in partnership, especially with difficult to engage groups.
Working with a range of colleagues and volunteers, you will co-ordinate the activities across the area, helping with the on-going development of volunteers to ensure that our customers are receiving the high quality standards that they expect.
You’ll have a background in volunteering and community involvement, capable of bringing the freshest, most innovative thinking in the field to bear on our work. You will be someone who can bring the best out of all kinds of people to ensure that we make the most of our resources and expertise.
This is a role that requires someone with energy and enthusiasm and a passion for learning and development, as well as the ability to work flexibly to support evenings and weekends when required.
Together we can save lives
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a PVG Scheme application.
