Aberdeen roadshow launched with Dame Anne Begg MP
St Andrew’s First Aid Training team are coming to Aberdeen to advise businesses on setting the standard in workplace First Aid. The road show will be held at Jurys Inn Aberdeen, Guild Street at 12noon on the 22nd November. The event is free to businesses in the north east and open to all responsible for Health & Safety and First Aid standards.
St Andrew’s First Aid will be advising businesses on how to respond to new HSE legislation changes. St Andrew’s First Aid has invited Aberdeen South MP Dame Anne Begg who will be speaking on the need for businesses and organisations to set the standard in the safety of employees.
HSE legislation for First Aid training changed in October and St Andrew’s First Aid have been working with organisations across Scotland, advising on what the changes mean for them and how to ensure they are compliant and offer the highest standards of First Aid provision for employees.
In Scotland, 20 people lost their lives due to avoidable workplace accidents, there were 2,240 major injuries and 7,447 injuries, which required more than 3 days leave from work in 2012. St Andrew’s First Aid is committed to raising workplace First Aid standards and ensuring that nobody in Scotland dies as a result of requiring First Aid that they did not receive.
Following the recent changes in HSE legislation employers are now responsible for ensuring the standard of First Aid training they receive meets the requirements of the workplace. Jim Dorman, Operations Director for St Andrew’s First Aid will give a presentation on meeting these requirements, and his team will be on hand to answer directly questions from attendees.
