Meet the Trainer – Steve
Each month in this new feature we will be showcasing a member of our training team. Without them our courses couldn’t happen!
This month, we talk to Steve from our Glasgow centre. Steve has worked at St Andrew’s since Spring 2019 and has a wealth of experience in the industry.
Steve originally joined the Army at the age of 16 and was posted to Germany as a Tank Driver. During the early years of his career, Steve was in awe of the work that was done by the Army medical teams. He later transferred to the Royal Army Medical Corps where he trained as a Combat Medical Technician. This role involved treating battlefield casualties, injuries and illnesses as well as teaching others in battlefield medic skills.
When Steve joined St Andrew’s he quickly became an important part of the training team who is always happy to help and gets great feedback from candidates!
“My First St Andrews first aid at work course was today and I found it enjoyable and very informative. The instructor Steve was very good at explanations and demonstrations. He also tried to get everyone involved and made sure everyone was happy before moving on. Would highly recommend.” – Stephen Beirne via Trustpilot
“Steve took my group for a 2 day refresher First Aid at Work course and brought a real unique and enjoyable approach that made the whole experience really invaluable” – Customer via Trustpilot
