Time to spring clean your First Aid kit?

Before starting on any spring cleaning efforts – at home or work – perhaps it might be an idea to review the contents of your First Aid kit? A First Aid kit is essential to have available all year but before commencing on any scale of clean up or stock check it may just be worth checking all contents to see if any items are out of date or even worse, not there at all. Accidents happen and often when you least expect it, so be prepared for any eventuality and instead of scrambling around for the right materials after a scrape, burn or sprain, make a little time to ensure the items you need are in your First Aid Kit.

Stewart Simpson, training manager at St Andrew’s First Aid Training and Supplies Ltd said:  “It’s an alarming fact that almost 80 per cent of people lack the knowledge and confidence to carry out basic First Aid. The Scottish Ambulance Service has a target response time of eight minutes – which means many treatable conditions could prove fatal without prompt on-the-spot action. Yet it needn’t be this way. Often, the most basic of first aid training and a First Aid kit can mean the difference between life and death. So this Spring we are asking people to take the time to make sure their First Aid kit is well stocked and if possible book onto a First Aid Course so that you are prepared should the worst happen.”

St Andrew’s First Aid stock a range of First Aid kits – from compact kits for the small workplace (featuring a reliable selection of first aid essentials including dressings, bandages and tape) through to more comprehensive large kits for major employers (including foil blanket and resuscitation device).  We have a solution for a wide range of needs and each comes in its own secure easy-to-store case.
