Setting the Standard in First Aid
Providing Scotland with the highest standards in First Aid skills,
services and volunteering opportunities
Emma Nicholson

Youth Leader, Clydebank Company, Member since 2007

Emma has been associated with St Andrew’s since she was 15, when she joined as a cadet. In 2007 Emma completed the Standard First Aid course and became a member of Clydebank Company.

Emma says "I am involved in St Andrew’s in a number of different ways. First and foremost as a First Aider, I attend small local events as well as major events that take place in Glasgow, including football games and concerts.  I am also the Cadet Officer for my company, meaning I am responsible for teaching and recruiting Cadets, as well being involved in fundraising."

Working with St Andrew’s has provided Emma with some inspiring and proud moments, such as being a recent runner up in the Young Scot of the Year Awards and being invited to the Young People of the Year Awards. "I feel very proud to be part of such a renowned and charitable organisation. I have met some lovely people and made great friends. But most of all, joining St Andrew's has taught me skills that will be very useful in my future career as a teacher. Fitting my work as a First Aider around my studies is no problem. St Andrew's is flexible and understanding of my needs. I also get a chance to cover great events!"
