Setting the Standard in First Aid
Providing Scotland with the highest standards in First Aid skills,
services and volunteering opportunities
Chris Dunion

Youth Leader, Clydebank Company, Member since 2007

When Chris decided to learn more about First Aid and what it was all about he approached St Andrew's what was available. Chris signed up for a Standard First Aid course and was then asked if he would like to join the local volunteer company, leading to many more opportunities to develop his skills.

Chris says "I am involved with St Andrews in many ways, firstly as a First Aider attending local events with my Company and also major events in Glasgow on behalf of Glasgow Exec. I also assist with the teaching to Clydebank’s Cadet Section as well as being part of the fundraising committee for the local company."

Working with St Andrews has offered Chris many opportunities, such as meeting new people some even becoming close friends, being able to attend major events, but says the most important things are the skills and qualities he has gained and developed in such a short time with St Andrews.

"After my studies I want to pursue a career in retail management. St Andrew's is helping me to be more independent, responsible and a better time manager. These skills will give me an advantage in my future career. I hope to continue being involved with St Andrew's for years to come."
