Strathkelvin Company

Formed in the early 1990’s Strathkelvin Company has grown from strength to strength. We have over 20 uniformed members who between them volunteer around 4,000 hours per year. Currently we are doing a feasibility study on starting a Cadet section for children between the ages of 11 – 15. We also work very closely with our local volunteer centre to offer the opportunity for the public to become involved in First Aid.

We meet on Monday evenings, 7.30 – 9.30 pm, in Kirkintilloch.

First Aid cover for events

We provide First Aid cover in East Dunbartonshire but assist wherever we are needed, both locally in the Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire area, and nationally at events such as T in the Park and Hogmanay celebrations.

Some of the variety of local event for which we provide cover include:

  • Rugby (both adult and children)
  • Football (both adult and children)
  • Athletics, cross country, 5K and 10K runs, half marathons, triathlons
  • Discos, galas, school events
  • Music festivals
  • Martial arts tournaments

In addition to the normal First Aid equipment we also have a mobile first aid post and have cycles so that we can cover duties in areas where access may be limited.

We also provide First Aid talks and demonstrations to a variety of youth groups and organisations.
