Stanley Company
Stanley Company was formed in 1974 by Mrs White who was our first Commandant until she retired and was replaced by our current Commandant, Mr Sandy Ward. We currently have around 60 volunteers who regularly attend First Aid duties throughout Glasgow and beyond.
We meet on Thursdays, 19.30 -21.30, at Ibrox Parish Church, Carillon Road, Glasgow.
Our Members
We have over 60 volunteers in our Company. They come from all areas of Glasgow and the surrounding area. Our officers for the senior company are:
Commandant – Sandy Ward
Deputy Commandant – Robert Ferguson
Assistant Commandant – Jacqueline Cowan
Assistant Commandant – Gerry Cowan
We also provide First Aid courses for children from the ages of 9-16 in our Cadet section. This group is lead by:
Cadet Leader – Gerry Cowan
Assistant Cadet Leader – Victoria Gilroy
First Aid Training
We currently provide the following courses to the public and our own Company members:
Courses run at various times throughout the year at Ibrox Parish Church, although further courses can be arranged as required.
First Aid cover for events
Stanley Company provide First Aid cover at various local events including:
- Barrowland Ballroom
- Rugby 7's
- Gala and fun days
We also provide First Aiders for larger events such as:
- T in the Park
- Football at Hampden, Ibrox, Celtic Park etc
- Concerts at Hampden
- Hogmanay at George Square
- Proms in the Park
- O2 Academy
