First Aid Course Descriptions and Costs
HSE Approved 'First Aid at Work' (FAW)
Day release
The benchmark for workplace First Aid and Health and Safety Executive approved. This course takes place one day per week for three week. It is a comprehensive course that provides the skills required by a modern First Aider along with the confidence to deal with real life emergencies.Cost: £268.00 +VAT
HSE Approved 'First Aid at Work' (FAW)
Block course
The benchmark for workplace First Aid and Health and Safety Executive Approved. This course takes place over three consecutive days. It is a comprehensive course that provides the skills required by a modern First Aider along with the confidence to deal with real life emergencies.Cost: £268.00 +VAT
HSE Approved 'First Aid at Work' (FAW)
Requalification
Avoid retaking the full course by requalifying before your current First Aid at Work qualification expires. This two-day requalification course (1 day per week or over two consecutive days) includes revision of all subjects covered in the full course.Cost: £190.00 +VAT
HSE Approved 'Emergency First Aid at Work' (EFAW)
Ideal for smaller, lower risk environments where the risk assessment indicates a lower level of First Aid cover is required. HSE approved. A one-day (6 hour) course covering the basics in workplace First Aid.Cost: £93.00 +VAT
HSE recommended 'Annual Refresher'
The HSE strongly recommends First Aiders attend an annual refresher course to avoid skills fade. This is a three hour course.Cost: £44.00 +VAT
Fire Marshal Training
Learn how to prevent and combat fires in the workplace, including evacuating the building and the different types of fire extinguisher. This four hour Health and Safety course is for persons nominated as Fire Marshals by their employer.Cost: £88.00 +VAT
Burns and Scalds
This 2 hour course is for anyone who wishes to learn basic life support skills when dealing with a burn or scald.Cost: £25.00 +VAT
Family First Aid Course
Cost £25.00 plus VAT
Baby & Child First Aid
This six-hour course is for anyone who wishes to gain knowledge and experience of First Aid for babies and children.Cost: £54.00 +VAT
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
This 2 hour course is for anyone who wishes to learn basic life support skills.Cost: £26 +VAT
Moving & Handling - Principles
This 4 hour course provides an insight into the risks associated with moving and handling and teaches safer lifting and carrying techniques.Cost: £52 +VAT
Moving & Handling - People
This 4 hour course is only delivered on customer premises deals with the handling of people. It is especially relevant to healthcare workers and providers and follows a minimal handling/lifting policy with guidance on handling aids. Course content includes: risk assessment, principles of handling people in a care environment, assisting mobility, assisting people in chairs, assisting people in bed and the using of handling aids.Cost: £360 +VAT (for up to 8 candidates)
Using an AED
Give cardiac arrest victims the best possible chance of survival. Learn how to use the growing number of AEDs available in public places.Cost: £83 +VAT
Anaphylaxis Awareness
This course gives information and training on how to recognise and treat this manageable condition.Cost: £47 +VAT
Looking after children
Baby & Child First Aid
This six-hour course is for anyone who wishes to gain knowledge and experience of First Aid for babies and children.
Cost: £54.00 (plus VAT)
Sudden Emergencies
Emergency First Aid
This 4-hour course is designed for anyone who wishes to gain a basic insight into First Aid.Cost: £58.75 (including VAT)
Standard First Aid
This 24 hour course is for anyone of 15 years and over who wishes to gain knowledge and experience of First Aid. A Standard certificate is also the minimum requirement for becoming a St Andrew's volunteer First Aider.
Cost: £75 (including VAT)
Using an AED
This 4 hour course teaches the candidate how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Cost: £120 + VAT (cost includes the first 6-monthly update)
CPR
This 2 hour course is for anyone who wishes to learn basic life support skills.Cost: £23.50 (including VAT)
Treating Sports Injuries
Sports injuries First Aid
