Cardonald Community group gives its support to St. Andrew's First Aid

A group of adult students with learning difficulties and additional support needs on the Community course at Cardonald College showed true community spirit by donating £190 to St. Andrew's First Aid. The group held a fundraising event as part of their teambuilding course and chose to donate the proceeds to St. Andrew's.

The students handed over the donation during a visit to the St. Andrew's headquarters where they learned more about the work done by its volunteers in providing First Aid services in Scotland.

Students presenting chequeMartin O'Connor, Supported Learning Tutor at Cardonald College, said "This has been a great achievement for the students and it meant a great deal to them to visit the St. Andrew's HQ to find out how the money will be spent."

Tommy Dickson, Commercial Manager with St. Andrew's said "Naturally we are delighted with any contribution that is made to assist our charitable work, but we were particularly delighted to receive this donation as it represented a successful enterprise on the part of these adult learners."

The money raised will go towards the upgrade of defibrillators which have helped St. Andrew's volunteers to save numerous lives in recent years.
