HRH The Princess Royal visits St. Andrew’s volunteers in Dundee

Members of St. Andrew's in Dundee & Angus were delighted to welcome our patron, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

The Princess Royal's visit to the offices and training base of the Dundee Executive Committee was her third visit to the Association since agreeing to become our patron in 2003.

Princess Anne with volunteers Princess presents long service award

During her vist the Princess Royal chatted to staff and volunteers and presented two awards to St. Andrew's members. David Pullen of Monifieth Company was presented with a 50-year long service plaque. Moira Rennie of Forfar Company received the Commandant in Chief's Certificate for her bravery in performing CPR no less than three times since becoming a member of St. Andrew's. Sadly, despite Moira's efforts, none were able to be resuscitated.

Dave Piggot, office manager of the Dundee & Angus Centre, said: "Some people never have to do CPR and here's somebody who has had to do it three times within their first few years. The fact that she was able to come back and have another go, really says a lot for her courage and her training."
