Course Content

This 4 hour course deals specifically with the handling of people and is relevant to healthcare workers and providers. It follows a minimal handling/lifting policy and includes guidance on handling aids. Course content includes:

- Risk assessment

- Principles of handling people in a care environment

- Assisting mobility

- Assisting people in chairs

- Assisting people in bed

- The use of handling aids

 

Certification

The certificate for successful completion of this course is valid for three years

 

Availability

Classes may be run on a scheduled basis, others can be organised as demand requires.
