Course Content

This one-day course is recommended for anyone who needs to move or handle casualties. It examines the potential handling risks in an emergency situation and demonstrates safer lifting techniques. Course content includes:

- Risk assessment

- Applying moving and handling principles to dealing with casualties

- Use of carry chairs, carry sheet, Furley (folding) stretcher, orthopaedic (scoop) stretcher, ambulance trolley and transporting people in wheelchairs

Certification

The certificate for successful completion of this course is valid for three years.
